FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   Are you building hotels?

A. While hotels are approved by Lake County, there are no hotels planned or contracted. Some of the land that was designated for hotels is being reserved for a proposed high school. Other acreage will now be used for Tourist Homes (similar to Airbnb). These Tourist Homes are expected to contribute $6 million in Tourist Development Tax revenue annually to the County, in addition to ad valorem property taxes.

Q. What kind of jobs will be available at Panther Run?

A. Panther Run is designating 200 acres, or almost one-third of the available land to be developed, for Multi-Use Centers. Based on the county’s formula, this is estimated to provide 3,672 jobs, which exceeds the county’s requirements by more than 10%. Plans include building access roads, extending utilities to and grading and prepping each site. This would otherwise be cost-prohibitive for employers to absorb. By providing much needed, pad-ready development sites for prospective employers, Lake County and Wellness Way will be more competitive in the market as Lake County economic development officials and LEAD (Lake Economic Area Development) partners recruit employers. County officials believe Panther Run’s Multi-Use Centers will attract employers in the manufacturing and service industries such as medicine, finance, research and development, technology, advanced manufacturing, as well as the hospitality and tourism industries.
